Important Announcements

BCA urges its members in particular and all other Bangladeshi caterers in general to take advantage of the newly declared Shortage Occupation List that was a direct result of BCA’s long time demand followed by serious movement. It is good news for curry house owners that they can now recruit staff (skilled chef) from outside UK under the Tier-2 of Point Based System, as BCA has been successful in including Skilled Chef in the Shortage Occupation List. But this list is not a permanent one and Govt may review it time to time to adjust it with the actual demand of the market. BCA has proved to the Migration Advisory Committee by presenting robust evidence that there was a shortage of 30,000 staff in the curry industry. Now that govt has allowed us to fill up those vacancies, we must take advantage of this new system in our favour. It is noted that many of the restaurant owners do not know the procedure of the Tier-2 of Point Based system. We advise them to talk to their respective lawyers/ solicitors. As a ready reference we may say that the following documents are required for the Sponsorship License: But this is not an exhaustive list and individual owners may be required to submit more documents.
