On October 10, 1960, BCA was established as the `Pakistan Caterers Association' to become the first organization by the people engaged in the curry industry in the United Kingdom. After the east wing of Pakistan liberated as he independent Bangladesh in 1971, the name was changed to Bangladesh Caterers Association as almost 100% members of PCA was Bengalese themselves. 2010 marks 50 years of the establishment of BCA

The theme for the anniversary is:

BCA@ 50: Celebrating the success, continuing the Journey

BCA @ 50: Remembering, Thanking and Moving On

BCA @ 50: Reflecting, Thanking and Currying On

BCA@50: The journey that changed the British culinary

BCA's first President, late Mr. Israel Miah, envisioned this association as the guiding light and solid platform of emerging Bengali Diaspora in the UK. BCA's involvement in mobilizing British public support favouring the liberation war and the subsequent support it extended to the Bangladesh government made it a true platform of non resident Bangladeshis.

And to look forward to the future, to the next fifty (50) years toward our centenary as a thriving British Bangladeshi community outside Bangladesh.
