Who are BCA members?
|
|
BCA members are those who are Persons of Bangladeshi Origin living permanently in the UK and are engaged in the curry business in the form of either ownership or directorship. It includes both restaurants and takeaways serving the traditional Bangladeshi cuisine.
BCA also plans to welcome affiliate/allied members such as suppliers to the industry, educational institutes, and consultants. It also plans to offer membership in the student category so that new generation caterers could be reared up to promote the industry against all odds.
What do we do?
- Monitor issues that are raised by policy makers / stakeholders and are affecting the curry industry.
- Represent the collective industry interests before policy makers including Councils, MPs and Ministers.
- Lobby for better recognition of the curry industry across the UK.
- Lobby against damaging or costly attempts to regulate the industry.
- Create Caucus of Friends from among the British dignitaries about industry issues to debate positions & create solutions.
- Listen to our members to ensure that all issues are addressed.
- Create/Supplement Programs to serve the industry (i.e. Working Holiday makers’ visa, International Worker Exchange.
- Provide a website platform for our members to secure relevant information.
- Plan a series of informative Seminars and NEC meetings and an annual Dinner.
- Provide support where requested to lend weight to local and regional issues.
